Hi Matt, I just subscribed to- having already read your first contribution on Rare Earths, a subject which gets far too little attention these days - probably because there is so much more to worry about! I was impressed by the depth of your coverage. Obvi9usly you have given this matter a great deal of thought and have already engaged in considerable research. I will now process with your second Installment. I wish you the best and look forward to seeing you again in October.
Thank you very much, Bill! I am very grateful for your subscription. I appreciate your comments about Part I, and look forward to hearing your thoughts on Part II. I'm thrilled to be on this journey with you.
Yes this is for sure a national problem! However, it is more severe here in South Florida. I sit on the Humane Society Board - it is a huge issue in our community!
What a great idea, Matt. As we look at a lot of the news of the day we often feel helpless and unable to see ways to change anything. Wouldn’t it be great if we could find some things great or small that we might be able to affect some change together. We look forward to seeing what challenges you come up with and how solutions may arise. Good luck!
Matt - this is an awesome idea/undertaking! Do you take suggestions on topics? We have a HUGE pressing problem in Miami Dade with the animal rescue situation. It is impacting the community in really challenging ways, and it is critical that we “fix it” - because dogs and cats are dying and being allowed to languish in shelters for years. Putting this methodology against this issue could REALLY benefit our community and save pet lives!! LMK your thoughts.
Excited to have a fresh voice and take on solving the myriad of problems our country is facing … your work as a journalist at the Miami Herald, your leadership in creating a vibrant tech environment in Miami through the Knight Foundation and your passion for making the world a more equitable place for all … is exactly what we need!!!
Thank you Bonnie! So happy you like it. And, yes, absolutely interested in suggestions! My hope is that this is a place we can have an ongoing conversation about problems we should focus on, and ways to address them. Animal rescue is near and dear to my heart - as you know, Danet and I have two rescues at home. One question I would like to learn more about is if this is a problem across the country as well, just as it is here in Miami.
